How I would like to improve as a teacher

As a teacher I am very old fashioned.  I depend a great deal on paper and white/black board in the classroom.  This is greatly do to the fact that "technical difficulties" can ruin a class.  I hate preparing a whole class that then is unusable due to some technical difficulty.  However, this summer break, I taught an online class for the first time.  Because of this I had to learn how to use PPT for the first time, hahaha.  Yep, I'm that far behind.  I also learned to use an online-class development program by Microsoft called, Silver Stream Producer.  During this online-class I  was able to do everything through the LMS that the University uses.  The ability to do all Class management:  attendance, assignments, midterm/final tests, and grades, made the class amazingly easy to manage and opened my eyes to a new world (classroom).

I am looking forward to learning the tools and steps for moving to a paperless classroom.  I am also looking forward to learning some of the different programs and online tools that I can use to make my classes more interesting.  As this class, EDUC932, is about Creative Teaching Techniques and Utilization of Multimedia, I believe this class will start me off on the road to improvement adding more diversity to my classes and a "more-paperless" classroom.
