Incorporating Technology into the Classroom
As I conclude my first graduate course class, incorporating and using technology in the classroom, I realize what a beneficial class this was. Technology is definitely already in the classroom and it is only going to become more prevalent. It will only benefit me as a teacher to implement the skills and theories I have learned thus far. Organizationally, I will improve my class through using Google Drive. By learning to make a class website, I can communicate with students more efficiently. I also look forward to implementing Audio and Movie Units for students. There is so much to learn and so much to keep up on technologically, but after seeing the many benefits of incorporating technology into the professional aspects of my life, the amount doesn't seem so daunting.

How To video. (It would be a good idea to make a video yourself in order to
understand the time constraints.)
|
Objectives
|
·

complete and submit a written assignment including a list of ingredients/materials
and a detailed step by step explanation of the How To video.

complete a short (3-5 minute) video on how to prepare a food dish.
|
Evaluation Agenda
|
Teacher Evaluation:
To explain and demonstrate a How To video, including the written section.
Student Evaluation:
To understand and complete a How To video and to submit a written outline of
the video.
|
Procedure
|
1.
Have students
form groups of three or four students
2.
Give each group
the sample outline of how to make a milkshake.
3.
Discuss the
sections that should be included:
·
Ingredients/Materials
(things you will need)
·
Steps (Make
sure that each outline and video has at least 3 steps.)
4.
Have students
work in class to create the written outline. Emphasis with each group proper
spelling and grammar.
5.
Proofread each
groups outline during class. The teacher should be moving about the classroom
helping each group when necessary and keeping the students on task.
6.
Once each group
has finished their outline, give them the rest of class to plan out their
video.
·
Each video
should clearly show a step by step process of how to make the food. It should
be clear enough that any other person in class will be able to follow the
directions and make almost the exact same thing.
·
Each group will
be responsible to describe their choice in detail including any materials and
ingredients needed.
7.
Assign the
video for homework. They will have one week to complete the assignment.
8.
Each group will
post their video on YouTube.
|
